17-day-long labour camp ends

Narayangarh, November 26:

The Janamorcha Nepal-affiliated All-Nepal Youth Association wrapped up a 17-day-long labour camp, organised at the Shivnagar Village Development Committee in Chitwan yesterday. The chairman of the youth body, Raju Khadka, said the camp was organised with the objective of generating political awareness among the people. The general secretary of the association, Chiran Pun, said that the labour camp, in which they worked for local farmers for money, could teach a lesson to the Maoists, who have been extorting money and looting paddy. The Maoists must also serve the locals and labour for money, he said.

Altogether 500 youths, including the activists of Janamorcha Nepal, harvested paddy during the camp. The association said that political training was also provided to the youths. The Jana Morcha chairman, Amik Sherchan, had inaugurated the labour camp. The vice- chairmen of the party, Pari Thapa and Lila Mani Pokharel, and other party leaders had taken part in the camp.
