Prime Minister to address the nation only after Tihar

Kathmandu, November 10

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s scheduled address to the nation today has been postponed due to lack of preparation and his busy schedule.

According to PM Oli’s press adviser Pramod Dahal, the prime minister postponed his scheduled address to the nation today because he was very busy dealing with other problems, including the scarcity of essentials facing the country.

Dahal said the prime minister would address the nation only after the Tihar festival and express gratitude to the people for supporting the government.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Poverty Alleviation Chitra Bahadur KC said he happened to know about the PM’s address through the media today. KC, however, said that it is not necessary for the PM to consult other coalition partners before addressing the nation.

“The prime minister can make such address by consulting his party,” said KC.

UML Chairman Oli was elected prime minister on October 11.

According to secretary of the CPN-UML central secretariat Krishna Gopal Shrestha, the prime minister, in his address, would thank all the Nepali people for supporting the government and tell people about his plans to make the country self-reliant.
