PHIDIM: Two men who were accused of raping an 18-year-old girl have absconded after a report was filed against them with police in Panchthar district.

The victim had filed report on Tuesday claiming that Bikram Chemjong and Bhim Nembang, both of Phalgunanda Rural Municipality-5 raped her in the jungle. The duo had allegedly pounced upon the girl and raped her. It has been reported that the girl was returning home after visiting her relatives.

Meanwhile, police have filed a case with Chemjong as a prime suspect and Nembang as an accomplice.

Further investigation into the case is underway while the search is on for the absconding perpetrators, said police.
