DHADING: At least two persons died and 25 sustained injuries after the bus they were travelling on fell below the road in Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality of Dhading district on Sunday.

The identities of the deceased are yet to be established.

According to Sub Inspector of Police Rajiv Bista at Gajuri Traffic Police Office, the Samyukta Yatayat bus (Ba 4 Kha 1415) was en route from Kathmandu to Manakamana, Kurintar in Chitwan when the bus fell some 50 metres below the road at Bhasbhase near Salangghat Bazaar at around 11:00 am this morning, killing one on the spot and injuring 26.

They were on a pilgrimage to Manakamana Temple in Gorkha district.

The injured were rushed to Malekhu-based Highway Community Hospital where one died during the course of treatment while the rest are receiving treatment there.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
