2 killed, 5 injured in Chitwan accident

KATHMANDU: Two persons were killed and five others sustained injuries in a road accident that took place in Chitwan district along the Prithvi Highway, today.

The identities of the deceased and injured are yet to be ascertained.

The incident occurred when a milk tanker (Ba 1 Gha 565) en route from Pokhara to Kathmandu hit a stationary Maruti van (Ga 2 Cha 1751) in Kurintar of Chitwan. The tanker fell down on the bank of Trishuli river after the incident.

Among the injured, one person is undergoing treatment at a government hospital in Bharatpur and another one at Chitwan College of Medical Sciences. It has been learnt that the remaining others are also being brought to Bharatpur.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
