The deceased have been identified as motorcyclist Bharat Ramdam (35) of Shukranagar of Bharatpur Metropolis-24 and his 11-year-old son Samir Ramdam (11) who was riding pillion.

The incident occurred when the speeding motorcycle (Na 14 Pa 882) lost control and crashed in Birendra Tole at 12:15 am, critically injuring the father and son duo, according to District Police Office, Chitwan.

The injured were rushed to the Chitwan Medical College for treatment where Bharat breathed his last at 3:00 am today while his son Samir succumbed to his injuries at 4:00 am the same morning during the course of treatment, informed police.

Police after the preliminary investigation said that Bharat was drink-driving.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
