RAUTAHAT: Two minor girls have drowned at Bhakuwa River in Rajpur Municipality, Rautahat while swimming on Friday.

According to Police, 10-year-old Sabana Khatun and 9-year-old Majda Khatun drowned after they slipped into deep water near Kudiya Bridge at 3:20 pm.

The girls had already lost their lives when rescuers pulled them out of the river. The deceased’s bodies have been handed over to their kin, police informed.

One and a half month ago, the river had claimed lives of other two minor girls, alarming locals; however, two more have lost their lives, today.
