2,000 plus girls rescued

LUMBINI: A social organisation, Three Angels, working in the field of anti-trafficking movement has said that it rescued 2,598 girls in the fiscal year 2071/071 BS.

The organisation said that the girls being trafficked to India were freed from the clutches of the traffickers through rescue, prevention and rehabilitation steps.

Bhairahawa Office Chief of Three Angels, Dipak Bhatta, said that a girl was rescued from India, 125 from Nepal-India border areas, 2142 from Nepal-India border point and 330 from community-level.

Field Officer of Three Angels Narayan Prasad Dawadi said that the organisation is focusing on awareness increasing campaign to prevent the human trafficking. The organisation has also lodged two cases in Rupandehi District Court and one in Dolakha District Court against traffickers.
