DHADING: A total of 2,362 children from Dhading district were affected by the twin earthquakes of April 25 and May 12 last year, said a report prepared by the District Child Welfare Committee. Of the affected children, condition of 2,009 children is at risk while the remaining 353 were separated from their families. The report said that a total of 681 people lost their lives in the devastating earthquake in the district. Among the deceased, 241 were children (123 boys and 118 girls). Likewise, a total of 1,218 people were injured in the quake. Of the injured, 231 were children (112 boys and 119 girls). Of the total affected children, 327 had received Rs 4,000 each in relief under family protection assistance, while 858 had got Rs 5,000 each under academic assistance, the report said.
