CHITWAN: As many as 24 students have sustained injuries after the school bus they were travelling on met with an accident in Bharatpur of Chitwan district on Sunday.

According to the District Police Office, the bus (Ga 1 Ka 3975) was heading towards Chaubiskothi from Kalyanpur when it lost control and crashed onto an electricity utility pole near the road.

Among the injured, 17 are undergoing treatment at the Chitwan Medical College and seven are being treated at the Bharatpur College of Medical Sciences, said police.

DSP Deepak Shrestha of the DPO stated that condition of the injured id stable.

Search for the absconding driver, identified as Ramesh Timilsina, is underway, added police.
