27 individuals get land survey licences

Kathmandu, February 4:

The government, for the ‘first time’, distributed land surveying and mapping licence to 27 individuals from the private sector.

This move has been taken to reduce the pressure on the Department of Survey (DoS) to authenticate survey maps.

The 27 persons have been authorised for mapping and updating of land parcels, engineering surveying, topographic surveying and mapping (except the base map of Nepal) and thematic surveying and Nepal mapping.

Speaking at a programme held by the DoS today, Toya Nath Baral, Director General of the DoS, said that the surveying licence was provided to the private sector to minimise the burden on the government sector.
