27 injured in separate mishaps in Dang, Parsa
Birgunj, October 26:
Twenty-seven persons were hurt in separate mishaps in Parsa and Dang districts today.
Sixteen persons were injured when a bus of Ekta Travels bound for Janakpur from
here skidded off the road
near the Shaktipaini bridge and 30 feet down into the Tal river east of Pathlaiya this evening. The six of the injured are in a critical condition.
Sub-inspector at the Pathlaiya traffic police office Bikas Thapaliya said the mishap occurred when the driver of the bus braked hard to avoid collision with a vehicle coming from the opposite direction on the single-lane bridge.
A report from Dang said 11 persons were injured when a Nepalgunj-bound bus coming from Ghorahi collided with a Ghorahi-bound bus coming from Lamhi near Chaupatta in Laxmipur VDC.
Among those seriously injured are Pushpa Shah, 23, of Dudhena in Tulsipur municipality, Buddhiman Shrestha, 33, of Nepalgunj municipality, Sita Shahi, 41, of Tulsipur municipality 4, Punsari Gharti, 24, of Pultakuri, Ayushma Shrestha of Sitapaila in Kathmandu and Sabina Pariyar, 17, Tilak Pariyar, 22, Bikas Rana, 22, of Bus Park in Tulsipur municipality. They have been taken to Nepalgunj for treatment. Others including Nabaraj KC, 48 and Brajendra KC, 7, of Kachnapur in Banke district, Bhim Arjun Shah, 33, of Saundiyar in Dang have returned home after treatment at Mahendra hospital in Ghorahi.
