32 per cent of total budget frozen in Kavre

Of the total budget, 32 per cent fund was frozen at Kavre district in the last fiscal year.

According to Office of Controller of Treasure and Accounts Kavre, of the total budget allocated for the district, Rs 335.57 million (32 per cent) was frozen last fiscal.

Chief treasure Controller Ram Bahadur Khadka said that of the total budget of Rs 1.07 billion, only Rs 735.57 million was spent in the fiscal year of 2015/16.

Khadka said the highest amount of the budget was spent in the last month of the last fiscal.

More than Rs 10 million each was frozen at the Department of Information Technology, Irrigation Office, DDC, Urban Development Office and Drinking Water and Sanitation, among others.

Around Rs 46 million at Information Technology Department, Rs 36 million at Land Management and Survey Training Centre, Rs 27 million at the DDC and Rs 71 million at the Drinking Water Office was frozen. The office of the controller of treasure and accounts said 96 per cent or 3.39 billion rupees was spent as regular administrative expense in the district.
