DADEKDHURA: As many as three persons died on the spot and four others sustained injuries after the tractor they were travelling on overturned in Chaurpati Rural Municipality-2 of Achham district today morning.

The deceased have been identified as Ramesh Sawad (16), Laxmi Sawad (15) and Kali Sawad (16), and the injured as Sharada Sawad (15), Saraswati Sawad (14), Mane Bhul (15) and Uttam Sawad (14), all the residents of Chaurpati-3.

According to chief at Achham District Police Office (DPO), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Janak Bahadur Shahi, the tractor (Se 1 Ta 7839) heading towards Naridad from Gawuda for fetching sand from a river, ran out of control and overturned along the hilly rough road killing three persons aboard the vehicle on-the-spot and injuring four others, at Satrophalne Khola in Mulli, at around 6:45 am today.

Meanwhile, all the injured are receiving treatment at a hospital in Bayalpata in the district.

According to local Dashpalle school teacher, all the victims of the road accident are school students of grade VIII to X. He said that the students had hitched the ride in the ill-fated tractor to their school.

Likewise, police have detained the tractor driver Gyan Bahadur Chaudhary (26) of Gauriganga Rural Municipality in Kailali district for the investigation into the incident.
