3 injured as ambulance hits bus in Morang

KATHMANDU: Three persons were injured after an ambulance hit a bus in Urlabari of Morang district on Sunday.

The injured have been identified as Laxmi Tumrang (30) and Tilak Tumrang of Shiva-9, Panchthar and Umesh Bhattarai (18) of Damak, Jhapa.

Police said that Laxmi and Tilak were in the ambulance while Umesh was travelling in the bus when the incident occurred.

The ambulance (Me 1 Cha 4387) hit the bus (Ba 2 Kha 9954) at around 5 am today.

All the injured were rushed to the Mangalbare Hospital for treatment.

However, Tilak, who is said to be in critical condition, has been referred to the Biratnagar-based Neuro Hospital for further treatment, police informed.

Meanwhile, police are searching for the absconding ambulance driver.
