300 cattle dead

Mugu:

Some 300 cattle, mostly sheep, died of foot-rot in Karan area of the remote part to Mugu district. The disease spread in Kimri, Magri, Dolphu, Mugu and Pulu VDCs from July, said the locals. No concern was shown from the District Livestock Services Office for the control of the disease, said Angda Lama.

Five VDC secretaries had also demanded a team with medicines for the same. Chief of the livestock office Ram Kumar Thakur said a team couldn’t be sent because of lack of medicines. The victims said they were in great loss as they had brought Tibetan sheep for the Dashain festival.
