3,500kg contraband dates seized in Bara

BARA: The Armed Police Force (APF) of Nepal seized 3,500 kilograms of contraband dates near the Nepal-India border in Simraungadh Municipality-1 of Bara district on Sunday night.

A team deployed from APF base at Golagunj under the command of Inspector Kabir Malla confiscated 21 cycles laden with dates being transported from India dodging the customs office, in Simraungadh-1.

Meanwhile, the APF is preparing to send the seized fruits to the Customs Office in Birgunj for further action, informed APF Inspector Malla.

Earlier, Inspector Malla-led team had arrested a man in possession of 19.1 kg of undeclared silver from Baragadhi Rural Municipality-6 in the district.
