2 aftershocks of 2015 quake jolt Lamjung, Sindhupalchok

KATHMANDU: The National Seismological Centre (NSC) of Nepal recorded two aftershocks of the Gorkha earthquake on Thursday.

An aftershock with local magnitude 4.4 jolted Sindhupalchok district at 5: 38 pm today.

According to the NSC, its epicentre was near Bachhala Devi Temple of Thangpalkot, north-west of Chautara, the district headquarters with coordinates of 27.92 °N and 85.66 °E.

4.3 ML aftershock jolts western Nepal

KATHMANDU: An earthquake of local magnitude 4.3 jolted Lamjung of western Nepal at 2:44 pm today.

According to the National Seismological Centre (NSC), the tremor had its epicentre near Dhagai, north of Besisahar the district headquarters. Its coordinates have been recorded as 28.31 °N and 84.35 °E.

As informed by the Chief of the NSC, Lok Bijay Adhikari, the tremblor was an aftershock of the Gorkha earthquake that jolted the nation on April 25 last year.

The NSC has recorded more than 30,000 aftershocks of the Gorkha earthquake in a year, but data of around 450 significant aftershocks have been processed to alert the public.
