NUWAKOT: At least four persons, including the driver, have been confirmed dead while 10 others were injured after a landslide fell on a moving passenger bus at Sisneri of Kakani-1 in the district today.

Among the deceased, the driver has been identified as Pradip Man BK of Bhorle VDC of Rasuwa district while identities of the three other are yet to be ascertained.

Rescuers at the scene are currently trying to retrieve injured passengers and the bodies, according to the District Police Office, Nuwakot.

Six of the injured who were rescued from the wreckage have been rushed to Kathmandu for treatment, DSP Arun Kumar Poudel said.

The chance of saving the passengers still trapped in the bus is getting slimmer. The Trishuli-Kathmandu road has been obstructed following the landslide.

The Kathmandu-bound passenger bus (Ba 2 Kha 2841) was buried as the landslide from the uphill fell onto it this afternoon.
