4 held with gold alike metal in Pokhara

POKHARA: Police said four persons were arrested in possession of gold alike metal from Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City recently.

Organising a press meet in the Lake City today, all the suspects along with seized items were made public at the Kaski District Police Office.

Acting on a tip-off, Kaski District Police Office arrested 39-year-old Rabi Raj Khanal of Myagde Rural Municipality-2 in Tanahun district and 50-year-old Cham Bahadur Khatri of Burtibang of Baglung district, from Gagangauda of Kaski district on Friday.

Police also seized 1.5 kg of gold alike metal from their possession.

Kaski District Police spokesperson Khadag Bahadur Khatri said the duo would be charged under the fraud case and further investigation is underway.

Similarly, police also arrested two other persons for swindling Rs 665,000 in exchange of fake gold idol from Saraswati Gurung in Budibazaar in Pokhara-26.

Police apprehended 29-year-old Raju Tamang of Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-29 in Lamjung district and 54-year-old Prem Bahadur Pariyar of Sundarbazaar Municipality-8 in Lamjung district.

The duo had targeted their gullible target, and asked her to lend them cash in exchange of yellowish gold like metal for a day. However, they didn't returned for days and Gurung realised of being duped by the duo resorted to police.

Meanwhile, police is preparing to file a fraud case against the suspects, according to Kaski District Police Office.
