4 Nepalgunj hospital officials indicted for embezzlement
KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority on Sunday filed a corruption case at the Special Court against four officials of the Nepalgunj-based Bheri Zonal Hospital.
Those indicted include Officiating Medical Superintendent Dr Pitambar Subedi, Section Officer and Store Keeper Madhav Prasad Gyawali, Accountant Maniram Sharma and Accounting Officer Padam Bahadur GC.
The anti-corruption constitutional body has accused the four of embezzling the budget allocated for the Mother Safety Programme of the Hospital in the fiscal year 2013/14.
Rs 10.68 from the state coffers was embezzled by them, according to the Commission.
Likewise, Dr Subedi also played truant at the Hospital as operated a private hospital in the city, the Commission added.
Action has been sought against them as per Section 3(1) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2002.
