400 quintals of rice for Achham

Dhangadhi, August 8:

The Nepal Food Corporation’s Dhangadhi-based Seti zonal office dispatched 400 quintals of rice to Achham district yesterday.

The district, one of the remote in the far-western region, has been facing a food shortage since a long time.

Three trucks loaded with 400 quintals of rice have left for Achham from the Mohanpur-based Nepal Food Corporation’s godown, said Nepal Food Corporation’s zonal office head, Indra Kamal Thapa.

All police offices along the East-West Highway were alerted considering possible obstructions

agitators could cause on vehicular movement, said acting chief district officer of Kailali Raj Kumar Adhikari.

With businessmen on agitation for 40 days, people of hilly districts in the far-western region have been facing a severe food crisis.

The businessmen have been seeking the abolition of the syndicate system.
