PHIDIM: Five persons, including Local Development Officer of the Panchthar district, were injured after a vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident near Puwa Khola of Ilam district on Wednesday.

The injured have been identified as LDO Komal Prasad Dhamala, District Technical Office's assistant accountant Kaushila Dahal, District Revenue Office's staffer Binod Dhungel, District Development Committee's staffer Bijay Karki and a son of driver Bir Bahadur Tamang.

According to the District Police Office, Panchthar, the incident occurred after the vehicle (Me 1 Ja 373) skidded off the road and fell some 50 metres down at around 9:30 am yesterday.

The injured have been taken to the Ilam Hospital for treatment, informed police.
