BHOJPUR: At least five persons were injured in a tractor accident at Lukare in Shyamsila of Bhojpur on Wednesday.

The injured have been identified as Pancha Kumar Rai (30) of Timma-3, Ranjit Rai (30) of Bhojpur Municipality-2, Sajan Rai (15) and Suman Rai (15) of Tiwaribhanjyang-5 and Anil Sherpa of Khotang.

According to the Eastern Regional Police Office, Biratnagar, the incident occurred after the driver of the tractor (Na 5 Ta 655) heading towards Tiwaribhanjyang from Bhainsipankha lost control of the vehicle and fell some 30 metres down the road.

Among the injured, three are said to be in critical condition. They are receiving treatment the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.

Police said that others are undergoing treatment at a local health post.
