KATHMANDU: At least five people were injured when a passenger bus met with an accident at Sorbarawa of Bhirkuti Municipality-3 of Kapilvastu district, along the East-West Highway, on Saturday.

Four among the injured, identified as Tulsiram Yogi, Haribansa Arsi, Krishna Kumar Poudel and Prahit Resmi, are being treated at a local hospital.

Critically injured Laxman Timilsina has been taken to Butwal for further treatment, police added.

According to police, the bus (Na 5 Kha 4016), en route to Dang from Narayangadh, lost control following an engine failure and turned turtle.

Police are searching for the bus driver who fled the scene after the accident.
