Dadeldhura jeep accident: Death toll reaches 7

DADELDHURA: The death toll in a jeep accident in Amargadhi of Dadeldhura district on Wednesday afternoon reached seven as two persons succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment.

Other victims, besides those named earlier, are yet to be identified.

5 killed, 5 injured in Dadeldhura jeep accident

DADELDHURA: At least five persons were killed and five others were injured when a jeep skidded off the road and fell 200 metres below, in Amargadhi Municipality-3 on Wednesday afternoon.

Two of the deceased have been identified as Laxman Bhatta and Ganesh Sarki of Bhageshwar VDC-8 and 6 respectively.

The jeep (Se 1 Ja 833), carrying nine passengers, was heading towards Baghkhor, the district headquarters,  from Bhageshwor VDC.

The vehicle had fallen onto the bottom of a ravine, killing five passengers on the spot and injuring five others at Thulokhola near Aiet at around 12:00 pm today, according to Sub-Inspector of Police at the District Police Office Karbir Air.

The injured are undergoing treatment at the Dadeldhura Sub-Regional Hospital. One of them is reportedly critical.
