6 far-western municipalities receive aid for fire engines

BAITADI: The Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development has provided financial assistance to six municipalities in the Far-Western Development Region including Patan Municipality of Baitadi district for purchasing fire engines.

The government under the pressure from locals extended Rs 6 million each to the municipalities to purchase fire engines. The municipalities to acquire fire engines are Patan of Baitadi district, Parshuram of Dadeldhura district,  Attariya and Ghodaghodi of Kailali district, and Dodhara-Chandani and Jhalari-Pipladi of Kanchanpur district.

The Executive Officer of Patan Municipality, Dhasarath Ram Od said that the government allocated the budget with an aim to help the people in the region, which annually faces huge losses from fires.

The Ministry has stated that it provided money to 33 municipalities across the country including the six in Far-Western Region to buy fire engines.
