ROLPA: A total of 66 people committed suicide in Rolpa district last fiscal year. Of them 38 were men, 25 women and three children.

According to the District Police Office, Rolpa, 43 of them took their life by hanging and 23 by consuming poison.

Police said that 47 were from the rural areas while 19 from the urban.

The reason behind most of the suicides were found to be failure in professional life while others include failed love affairs, poverty and mental problem, according to DSP Ram Prasad Ghartimagar of the DPO.
