ITAHARI: Seven women belonging to Dalit community, who had gone to Kuwait and Saudi Arabia for employment from Sunsari, have been left high and dry there.
Condition of Sharmila Sada (18), Shef Kumari Sada (16), Rupawati Dhami (30), Jangali Sada (35), Mama Rajdhami (35) and other two girls with identical name of Lila Sada, all of Baklauri, is very pitiable in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, said Binod Chaudhari, coordinator of Women Rehabilitation Centre, an organisation working against violence to women.
The women were reportedly taken there by Dilliram Limbu of Baklauri VDC Ward 5 on June 4. According to the victims, the accused Limbu has been living in Mumbai.
One of the victims said over telephone that Limbu had first taken them to Mumbai via Siliguri, from where they were sent to Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
The agent then had made them stay in Mumbai for 45 days. Of them, four were sent to Kuwait and three to Saudi Arabia on July 26. They were asked to work as domestic helps. Many of them were asked to work for hours without food and rest.
