DANG: Of the 2,382 candidates who had contested the June 28 local level elections in Dang, 724 had their deposit amount seized in Dang district.

They had their surety seized as they failed to get at least 10 per cent of the total votes cast, according to the District Election Office. “Surprisingly, some of the candidates did not even get a single vote.”

A total of 156 candidates had their deposit seized in the elections at Ghorahi sub-metropolis alone, according to election officer Bijaya Karki.
