76 weapons seized from the east in four months
Biratnagar, October 5:
Police have seized 76 weapons from different criminal gangs from several places in the eastern region in four months. DIG at the eastern regional police office, Rabindra Pratap Shah, said those arms were seized mostly from armed groups in Tarai. According to him, the seized arms include 51 Katuwa pistols, seven Bharuwa rifle, 202 bullets, two grenade bombs and a grenade. Of them, two Katuwa pistols and two bullets were seized from Jhapa, a Katuwa pistol, a Bharuwa rifle and two bullets from Ilam.
The police seized six Katuwa pistols, 10 bullets from Sunsari, a Bharuwa rifle from Terhathum, three Bharuwa rifles from Sankhuwabha, 19 Katuwa pistol, 60 bullets and a socket bomb from Saptari.
A pistol, six Katuwa pistols, 53 bullets, a bomb were seized from Morang, 14 Katuwa pistols and 67 bullets from Siraha, two Katuwa pistols, a Bharuwa rifle and four bullets from Udayapur, a Katuwa pistol and four bullets from Khotang and a rifle from Solu, police said.
