MAHOTTARI: A priest was reported killed by unidentified persons in Bardibas-5 of Mahottari district on Saturday.

The District Police Office said the 79-year-old Baba Ramji Shahi, a priest at the Raimandal Indreshwor Mahadev Temple was found dead today.

Shahi was attacked with a bamboo stick while he was out to answer the nature's call this morning, according to police.

Meanwhile, 28-year-old Harka Bahadur Majhi has been arrested in connection to the case, DSP Shaligram Sharma informed.

The priest's body has been sent to Jaleshwor for forensic examination.

Further investigation is underway.
