8 injured in land fued

RAUTAHAT: Eight persons, including the activists of UCPN-Maoist and Nepali congress, were injured when a land related dispute took a nasty turn here in Rautahat's Bisunpurba Manpur VDC today morning. The locals -- Ramprabesh Yadav, Bigu Yadav, Kishori Yadav and Bhadai Yadav of Ward No 8 of the VDC - have been on a dispute over the land for many days.

According to area police office Garuda, the NC and UCPN-Maoist cadres clashed after they gave the dispute a political colour.

The police who reached to quash the clash between the two sides had to open one round of fire in air.

The eight injured persons in the clash include locals Kanti Devi, Jiyalal Raya, Ramprabesh Yadav, Amit Raya, Bhapahi Raya Yadav, Sajini Devi, Batahu Thakur and Ramnaresh Yadav. The critically injured Kanti Devi is undergoing treatment in Gaur Hospital while the others already returned homes after minor treatment, according to police inspector of Garuda, Shiva Sharma Acharya. Police arrested Surendra Raya Yadav, Rambinod Sah, Rambabu Raya Yadav, Surendra Sah, Rambilasraya Yadav, Rambinodraya Yadav, and others, on the charge of their involvement in the fight.
