BAJURA: Eighty per cent votes were cast for the provincial assembly and parliamentary polls in Bajura on Sunday.

The Office of the Chief Returning Officer Bajura said that of the total 69,834 voters, 53,214 voters cast their ballots. However, the voter turnout was one per cent less than that of the recently-held civic polls in the district. Due to cold, most of the voters had flocked to voting centres at noon.

The office of the chief returning officer said the process of ferrying ballot papers to the headquarters had started on Sunday itself. Ballot papers from far-flung areas will be taken to the headquarters in a chopper.

Bajura CDO Luk Bahadur Kshetri said that despite sporadic incidents, voting concluded smoothly in the district.
