800 cold wave affected families receive blankets in Birgunj

BIRGUNJ: Amidst the reports of extreme cold taking its toll on thousands across the Country particularly in Tarai, Birgunj Metropolitan and Keyal Group Nepal have teamed up to distribute blankets to 800 cold wave affected households in different wards of the City.

With economic assistance from the Keyal group, the Metropolitan distributed blankets in Chapkaiya, Panitanki, Ghadiarwa, Murli, Pipara, Bhawanipur among other areas on Monday.

“The Metropolitan, in coordination with various institutions, has distributed blankets after extreme cold and winter wave struck Birgunj denizens making everyday life difficult,” City Mayor’s Political Advisor Mukesh Diwedi said, “we are regularly communicating with ward chairs and distributing blankets as per the needs; we will continue to do so for few more days.”
