Abductees’ status unknown
Dhangadhi, July 22:
The whereabouts of four people, who were abducted two weeks ago, are still not known.
According to the Kailali district police office, Rabindra Thapa, his wife and their two daughters, who were heading from Mahandranagar to their house at Bajhang Chaurjhari village development committee in a passenger bus (Ma 1 Kha 348), were abducted by Maoist cadres on July 11.
The abducted were taken to the Bahubiryoddha memorial brigade at Sahajpur, police said.
Thapa was taken away after he protested the Maoist cadres’ act of
manhandling the conductor of the bus, police said, adding that the cadres manhandled the conductor after he demanded bus fare from them.
Thapa’s wife and their two daughters chose to go with him, police said.
