HETAUDA: An absconding rape convict has been arrested after 34-year from Makwanpur district recently, the Makwanpur District Police Office said.

Earlier, on May 22, 1985 the Makwanpur District Court had sentenced Ram Saran Thapa, of Firkepakha-8 in the district, for seven years in prison on rape charge.

A police team deployed from the Chaugada Police Post in the district apprehended Thapa yesterday and presented before the court said, the District Police Office Makwanpur.

Meanwhile, the court ordered the convict to the Regional Prison Bhimfedi for the execution of sentence.
