Action against 29 rich ‘bank robbers’ soon: Nepal

CPN-UML general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal today said that the “eight” political parties have reached consensus on taking action against 29 Richie Richs involved in siphoning money from banks.
Nepal said this while inaugurating the seventh national convention of the Rastriya Banijya Bank Staff Association in Narayangadh today. Saying that the bank management and staffs were forcing small debtors to return their loans, Nepal said the bank management were powerless to take action against the 29 who took loans from the bank and invested in other places while intending to befool the bank.
Nepal called for action against the 29 and said that the parties would help in every way in course. He added that skilled hands would not be laid off in the days to come. Referring to the tradition of dismissing staff from different political backgrounds after a regime change, Nepal said, “Nobody can sack able staff. Those involved in regression will not, however, be exempt from action.”
Stressing that his party and the Maoists have an understanding on all issues related to leading the country towards progress, Nepal said, “We have an agreement on the issues of holding an election to a constituent assembly, forming interim constitution and interim government and dissolving Parliament.”
Nepal added that he had talked to Maoist supremo Prachanda and second-in-command Dr Baburam Bhattarai this morning before leaving for Chitwan.
