KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 1

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 795,959 on Friday with 898 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 766,696 with 938 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 11,148 with 13 more fatalities.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 18,115 against 18,168 a day before.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 13,368 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 10,113 were PCR tests while 3,255 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,215,495 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 168 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 1,066.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 96.3 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

Currently, there are 242 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

The capital district holds the highest number of infections with 266 cases in the country while Kaski is second in line with 84 cases while Morang with 76 cases each today.

So far, a total of 13,959,515 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 7,631,188 have received the first dose while only 6,328,327 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

Globally, over 234 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.7 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 211 million people have recovered while more than 18 million cases are still active.
