ADB ‘positive’ on Melamchi plans

Kathmandu, July 12:

Minister for Physical Planning and Works, Hishila Yami, today said that the Asian Development Bank is positive towards helping execute the Melamchi Drinking Water Project.

Talking to reporters after holding talks with representatives of the ADB, Yami said, “They presented themselves in a very flexible manner”.

Representatives have expressed satisfaction over the efforts being made by the government to reform the water supply management system, she said.

We are positive towards the demands put forth by the ADB representatives, Yami said. Deputy director-general of the ADB’s South Asian Affairs, Hafeez Rahman Sultan, said matters relating to drinking water management system and continuity of the ADB’s support were discussed.
