BARA: The whereabouts of Sandip, 18, the son of Jay Lal Shah, a resident of Hariharpur VDC-5, who went missing on Saturday, are still unkn-own. Sandip suddenly went missing from near a road beside the Gandak canal at Basatpur VDC, family sou-rces said, adding that they suspected that he had been abducted. — HNS

Teen’s body found

CHITWAN: The body of a teenager, Man Kumar Chaudhari, 17, of Bachhauli VDC of Chitwan, was found in a well near the Osho camp on Tuesday , the Chitwan District Police Office (DPO) said. Chaudhari, a ninth-grade student of Bachhauli secondary school, was found with his throat slit with a sharp weapon, said inspector Ram Bahadur Shrestha, adding that the DPO has taken three persons in custody for investigation. Chaudhary’s body was handed over to his family after post-mortem in Bharatpur hospital . — HNS

Anti-dengue panel

BARA: A six-member action committee has been formed in Kalaiya under the coordination of the administrator of the Bara District Public Health Office (DPHO), Parshu Ram Shrestha, to prevent dengue fever from spreading in Bara. DPHO on Tuesday decided to provide insecticide to kill mosquitoes. Health personnel said this disease has not yet surfaced in Bara.— HNS

4 Maoists punished

DHANKUTA: Acting on the complaint of locals, the local Maoist leadership punished four of its cadres on Wednesday who had beaten up a driver at Pakhribas bazaar on Monday. Locals demanded that militia commander Anchal, cadres Darshan, Suman and Shikhar be punished publicly. Maoist in-charge of area number 2 Ashok said the four were punished as they had acted against the party direction. — HNS

15 hurt in mishap

NEPALGUNJ: Fifteen passengers were injured, one of them seriously, when a bus bound for Pyuthan from Nepalgunj rammed into a tree in the jungle area between Rohinikhola and Dhakeri in Banke on Wednesday, said Inspector Bed Prasad Khanal.— HNS
