‘Buddha boy’ still missing
Bara, March 15:
Everyone is curious to know the whereabouts of Ram Bahadur Bamjan, the ‘Buddha boy’ of Bara. The teenager who astonished the world by reportedly meditating for 299 straight days without solid food and water, had suddenly disappeared early on Saturday morning. His whereabouts was still unknown till this evening.
The search for Bamjan is on, police inspector of the unified security base camp at the Nijgarh, Ram Kamal Acharya, said.
Bamjan was meditating under a peepal tree in the jungle area of Bara’s Ratanpur since May 16 without food and liquid, it was reported. People believed his meditation would continue for another six years before Bamjan disappeared.
The search for Bamjan was continuing in and around the jungle area, said officials of the Om Namobuddha Tapaswi Sewa Samittee. The local administration had frozen the bank account of the Samittee on Sunday.
Tantrik rituals, Bhumisuddhi pooja and Nagpuja have already been performed for the safe return of the ‘Buddha boy’. Bamjan’s mother, Maya Tamang, had stopped taking food since Saturday. Tamang hoped her son would come back voluntarily.
