‘Firing mishap’ kills JTMM cadre

Rautahat, January 19:

An activist of Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (JTMM), who was returning after allegedly killing a person for spying against the party, was killed when the gun he was carrying went off accidentally on Friday.

JTMM’s military member, Manoj Pandit, 25, of Tegraha VDC, Rautahat, was killed on the spot when the automatic gun he was carrying went off accidentally, company military commissar of JTMM Arjun Yadav claimed.

He added that Pandit was returning after killing Hari Narayan Thakur, 30, of Gamhariya Parsa VDC. JTMM activists had abducted Hari Narayan yesterday accusing him of robbery and spying against JTMM. Thakur’s body was taken to District Hospital Gaur for post mortem, inspector of District Police Office Naresh Raj Subedi said. He added that probe into Thakur’s murder was on and that police had not received any information on Pandit’s death.
