DAMAK: People should now press political parties for the timely promulgation of the constitution, civil society leaders said here today.

Speaking at a programme organised by Journalists' Forum Damak to exchange greetings on the occasion of this year's Dashain and Deepawali, various speakers said that the parties' lackadaisical attitude might adversely affect the constitution drafting process and the nation could face mishap. "A misfortune is imminent if the constitution framing process is not completed within the stipulated timeframe," they said.

Lawmaker Deepak Karki said the nation was passing through a very challenging times and it would suffer more if the people's mandate to draft the statute was not completed on time.
