BIRGUNJ: After private school organisations in Kathmandu Valley staged a protest against the obstruction in supplies on Friday, the school operators in Tarai district followed suit, but in support of the ongoing Madhes agitation.

Students of Birgunj-based private schools staged a demonstration in the city on Saturday morning.

National Private and Boarding Schools’ Association (NPABSON) Parsa district president Ram Sundar Chaudhary said the rally was organised in response to Kathmandu-based schools' demonstration yesterday.

Hundreds of students had taken part in the protest.

Various rights organisations and activists have been opposing use of children in demonstrations of political nature.
