Agitators thrashed

Rautahat: Locals thrashed the cadres of agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front at the Gaur-based Indian border in Bairganiya point, Rautahat, today.

The locals attacked UDMF cadres after the demonstrators manhandled Rohit Sah of Gaur, who was ferrying goods for a marriage ceremony, at the border today.

The area became tense for half-an-hour after locals thrashed four cadres. Raj Kishwor Yadav, a local, said that Chandra Gupta, a demonstrator from Mudabalawa VDC was injured in the clash.

Yadav further informed that Gupta has received deep injuries on the body and is receiving treatment at a private clinic of Bairganiya.

Meanwhile, Armed Police Force and Nepali Police took the situation under control.

Inspector Chiranjibi Prasai of APF said police did not arrest anyone. It is said the demonstrators set ablaze a motorcycle with Indian number plate in Dasgaja area.

It was also reported that the locals of Mudabalawa took out a buffalo and goat rally to support the Tarai agitation.
