RUKUM: A lactating mother in Jhula village of  Rukum district was raped while she was sleeping at her own house.

According to the Rukum District Police Office (DPO), the 29-year-old victim gave a statement that she was alone at home when the alleged Dhan Bir Bitalu of Banphikot-4 broke the door and committed the crime on Monday night.

Police said they would file cases against Bitalu for the attempted rape and theft.

The DPO further stated that the case was not immediately made public to avoid any untoward effect on the investigation.

The husband of the victim has been staying in the district headquarters Musikot, Khalanga for employment.
