Ambulance-hit kills Indian passenger alighted from bus in Chitwan
RATNANAGAR: A person was killed when an ambulance hit him in Khairahani Municipality in east Chitwan along the East-West Highway, on Monday night.
The deceased has been identified as Bidyananda Jha, who appeared to be in his 50s, a permanent resident of Bihar, India, informed the police.
The incident took place when the ambulance (Na 2 cha 4126) heading in an eastward direction hit and critically injured Jha, who was crossing the road to answer nature's call after alighting from the bus he was travelling in, at Jyamire, at around 1:00 am today, according to police. The bus was en route from Janakpur to Kathmandu.
According to police, critically injured Jha was rushed to the Bharatpur Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at 2:20 am.
Meanwhile, police have arrested the ambulance driver and have carried on further investigation into the case.
