Bomb targeting leftist alliance leader Tripathi goes off in Dhading; no one hurt

DHADING: A pressure cooker bomb ambushed targeting the leftist alliance leaders exploded in Damechaur-4 of Thakre Rural Municipality in Dhading district, on Sunday.

It has been reported that the bomb was planted targeting the candidate for the House of Representatives Bhumi Tripathi, chairperson of CPN-UML Dhading district .

UML leader Netra Raj Paudel said the bomb was planted targeting the leaders who were returning after addressing election rallies, at around 3:00 pm today.

"We were on the move, after few minutes we heard a loud explosion, fortunately we survived. The government should book all the culprits," leader Paudel added.

Despite no casualty in the explosion, after the incident locals have been terrorised.

Tripathi said his party is not fazed with such terror act plotted for foiling the upcoming elections.

Meanwhile, the Dhading District Police Office has beefed up security in the district.

Similarly, Nepali Army has defused a powerful bomb planted at the premises of the Election Office Dhading. The District Administration Office has claimed to beefed up security in the area. However, the powerful bomb found inside the election office have questioned the security arrangement in the area.
