Ancient infrastructure found in Kapilvastu

JITPUR, KAPILVASTU: Ancient infrastructure has been found at Siddhartha Tole in Kapilvastu Municipality-3 in Kapilvastu district.

The infrastructure is said to be a brick wall in a state of ruin dating back to ages. The infrastructure was uncovered while digging a road heading in a northward direction from an eye hospital in Taulihawa, locals said.

Following the findings, a team of archaeologists engaged in excavation and study of a site in Tilaurakot, inspected the findings. The infrastructure said to have archaeological value was found in a land belonging to a local resident.

Chief archeologist officer at the Department of Archeology Ram Bahadur Kunwar said the findings were remnants of ancient bricks, and further details would be revealed after an intensive study.

It is said that an artifact was found in an ancient well at the site a few years ago.
